Don Pogreba is a seventeen-year teacher of English, former debate coach, and loyal, if often sad, fan of the San Diego Padres and Portland Timbers. He spends far too many hours of his life working at school and on his small business, Big Sky Debate.

His work has appeared in Politico and Rewire.

In the past few years, travel has become a priority, whether it’s a road trip to some little town in Montana or a museum of culture in Ísafjörður, Iceland.

  • I just wanted to say how much I look forward to your posts. As a veteran of three of our Wars I am more than appalled at recent actions by Hair Twittler and his malignant minions in D.C. And your publication gives me a bit of hope. I keep thinking my fellow Montanans are too smart to fall for the Neo-Liberal Republicans but then Election Day rolls around…well, keep it up, maybe get behind the fingerprint for voter ID & registration at birth paper ballots movement. Voting for our representatives is the Foundation of our democracy and our Rights and every other Right is dependent on Election Integrity. As Joseph Stalin said (I paraphrase)It doesn’t matter who votes, it matters who counts the votes! The Russian meddling in our elections should make it a solidly bi-partisan issue returning to paper ballots. Speaking of Rights, the 1st is vital and since I can’t find a copy on my newsstands I’ll look for a donate button now I’m done. You are a treasure as a member of the 5th Estate as well as a Teacher, both occupations that are recompensed in a reverse ratio to societal value. Trump should be getting $13,ooo year, the teachers, nurses, janitors and auto mechanics should split up the $2trillion Trumpholes just divvied up.
