It’s Time to Descend on the PSC and Demand Climate Action

Today, Montana’s Families for a Livable Climate joined 228 parent-led climate groups from 28 countries in a joint letter to delegates at the UN climate negotiations demanding ambitious climate action. As parents we demand a safe future for our children – for all children – and call upon parents everywhere to join us. Plea.parentsforfuture.org

Our group is proud to stand with families around the globe demanding a livable future for us all, and we’re proud to be part of a Montana coalition that will descend on Helena this Monday, December 9, for a “Ratepayers Rebellion” rally at the Montana Public Service Commission.

It’s the end of the fossil fuel era, and the beginning of our clean energy future, and Montana has the opportunity to lead the way. With the Colstrip coal generators closing in the near future, Montana ratepayers must say NO to NorthWestern Energy’s plan to radically expand fossil fuels and greenhouse gas pollution.

We must say YES to using Montana’s vast wind and solar resources, YES to clean water and clean air, YES to rural economic development, and YES to a livable climate for our children and grandchildren.

The “Ratepayers Rebellion” rally takes place at noon in front of the Montana Public Service building (1701 Prospect Avenue, Helena) on Monday, December 9. The PSC takes public comments beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Buses and vans are coming from across the state. A free bus from Missoula to Helena still has available spots. To get on the list and receive the details, please email David Merrill at [email protected]

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
