Montana Democrats roundly rejected the atrocious and unacceptable comments of President Trump and Daines and even Montana rabbis stood against Daines use of the term anti-semitism inappropriately.
In a guest piece published in the Missoulian the Montana Association of Rabbis were “appalled by Daines support of racist incitement”
From the piece:
Democratic candidate for Senate Wilmot Collins had a lot to say as well:
I served this country for over 20 years in the U.S. Armed Forces. Does @SteveDaines think I should “go back to where I came from” too? If you believe that we are better than this, consider joining our movement to defeat Senator Daines here: ??https://t.co/xYBrxiuUEw

He even called on Daines to apologize for his atrocious remarks:

It’s time for us to come together and get to work, I think this tweet said it well:
I'd just like to take a moment & thank @SteveDaines for lighting a fire under every democrat in Montana today.

Wilmot Collins said it best in an email today:
“Montanans are better than the hateful divisiveness and name-calling from Senator Daines and President Trump. As Montanans, we know that behavior like this is hateful and unacceptable.
Whatever Senator Daines thinks, we aren’t going anywhere. I will continue to serve this country until the day I die, along with so many other refugees and children of immigrants who love this country.
While Senator Daines is trying to distract Montanans from his atrocious record on issues like health care and public lands, we are focusing on fixing problems.
