I know it is a crucial priority to protect our public lands. The Land and Water Conservation Fund is instrumental in protecting our shared heritage of public outdoor spaces for us all. Anyone claiming to represent Montana’s interests would go to bat for this program to preserve our public lands for years to come.
My opponent, Steve Daines, falsely claims to support the LWCF, but for the past two years, he’s failed to fund the LWCF, even with Republican majorities in Congress, costing us all $1.8 billion dollars in funding for public lands. All the while, he’s tried to spin his empty promises as successes.
All funding for the LWCF comes from revenue generated by offshore oil and gas exploration. This money does not come from individuals’ taxes.
As your next Senator, I’ll fight to fully fund the LWCF and I’ll never sell out our values. Send me to D.C. to protect our public lands.
Montana is the most beautiful state in the nation, full of natural treasures and scenic views. From where many us of live, you can hike, bike, fish, and hunt just five minutes away. For me and for most Montanans, protecting our environment comes naturally. It’s our way of life.
Montanans deserve a Senator who will stand up for our deeply-held values and defend our environment and public lands, not sell them down the river by voting to not fully fund the LWCF.
When elected to the United States Senate I will be a Senator who will fight to protect our public lands every day.
