2018 Election Donald Trump

Trump coming to Missoula?

It could be some of the greatest guerrilla theater the Garden City has ever seen.

According to KTVQ, Trump is coming to Missoula on Thursday, Oct. 18. He’ll be stumping for Matt Rosendale and Rep. Greg Gianforte, and also because he holds a pre-adolescent grudge against Rosendale’s opponent, Sen. Jon Tester.

If he spent as much time working on important presidential duties as galavanting around the country holding rallies, he might accomplish a helluva lot more. On second thought, maybe it’s a good thing he doesn’t spend more time in the White House mucking up the country and the world.

Missoulians have always assumed, as Trump visited Great Falls and Billings, that he would never come to Missoula. We were wrong. Perhaps Trump wants to play into the “angry left-wing mob” rhetoric he has focused on lately. There are certainly plenty of angry lefties in Missoula although if you want to see angry, frothing-mad people, just tune into a Trump rally.

So let’s keep it civil but give him an appropriate welcome. Details to follow as they become available.

Correction: An earlier version had Trump visiting Bozeman. It was VP Pence in Bozeman (who also went to Billings) and then Don Jr. in Bozeman (also in Billings and Hamilton). That’s a lot of visits to Montana from Trump surrogates.
