A husband and wife duo have joined the Montana Senate race. You read that right.
James Dean is a Republican running in the Republican Primary.
His wife Sarah Dean could also be a Republican but decided to run in the Democratic Primary.
No one has ever heard of Sarah Dean and no one wants to hear from James Dean. Who are these mysterious people who suddenly appeared on the Montana political scene to run for Senate? This is beyond suspicious, it is infuriating.
They have every right to run, but giving these people time or coverage is a disservice in a year where we need good, useful information from our media outlets.
Normally this would be good for a laugh, but not in 2017, not in the year we’ve all had to F***ing deal with Trump.
Not in the year we have see the bloated casserole that Steve Bannon calls a face every day on the news.
Not in the year of the fires, and hurricanes, and tragedies near and far.
I’m over it.
The farce is merely a Trumpian distraction from a serious race about the future of Montana and this country.
This race is about Montanans who need healthcare and a living wage and are worried about what Republicans in Congress will rip away next. Montanans demand a fair tax system that makes sure their boss doesn’t pay a lower tax rate than them. Montanans need a break from this created chaos and distraction, they don’t need tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.
I am personally of the mindset that primaries are good when they are about ideas and the heart of the party.
That is not what this is.
This, even for Republicans, is too clever by half.
Montanans aren’t interested in hearing from a candidate posing as a Democrat parroting Breitbart and Steve Bannon ultra-nationalist phony economic populism.
I wouldn’t even be surprised if Steve Daines was behind the recruitment of this disappointing attempt to distract from the real issues of this race.
Montanans are concerned about Donald Trump being in charge of nuclear weapons while Republicans in Congress refuse to reign him in.
Montanans are concerned about Ryan Zinke being in charge of National Monuments while pushing Republican-led public land sales.
Montanans are concerned about Betsy DeVos being in charge of their child’s public education while she attempts to divert money to private schools.
Montanans don’t have time for this nonsense.
