The Bedwetting Bigots Are Coming to Helena

After their grammatically-challenged and hate-filled gathering in Missoula a few weeks ago, a group of loud-mouthed bigots are planning to gather in Helena to air their grievances about all of the problems they see in American security. At the moment, according to their Facebook page, 31 patriots plan to abandon the comfort of their La-Z-Boy chairs, Fox News, and Rush Limbaugh to bash Syrian refugees under the guise of discussing security issues.

It’s quite a list of concerns. Echoing the noble language of Jefferson in the Declaration, these patriots plan to speak about random capitalization and hope to ensure that the information they offer is factual, complete with “proof.” If attendees follow that advice, bemused visitors to the capitol that day will see, in addition to illegible signs, pages of printouts from conspiracy web sites about the UN’s plan to rule America.

While the event is listed as being under the direction of the same “American Security Rally of Montana” that led the Missoula gathering, the Helena version seems to be under the steady hand of Tim Ravndal, who locals might remember as the man who is so bigoted he was kicked out of a local TEA Party organization. And while the event is billed as one that will discuss a wide variety of security issues, its Facebook page is loaded with anti-Muslim hysteria from the crowd that needs to hold rallies of like-minded bigots lest they spent the day cowering in bedwetting fear at the prospect of a few dozen desperate children being relocated to Montana.

For some reason, this pack of patriot-cowards is really upset with Attorney General Tim Fox, who is apparently refusing to answer their polite requests to attend the rally. Perhaps they agree with Representative Art Wittich that the Attorney General is little more than a Democrat in Republican clothing.

Were I not working, I might attend the event to register my concern: the decline in grammar skills across the United States. Or the fact that so many of these self-styled patriots seem to have the time to gather for rallies during the middle of the work week. I’d hate to think that any of these champions of Randian self-reliance are relying on government benefits to make a living instead of boldly riding across the plains like John Wayne, making their own racist destiny.

One can only hope that if the media choose to cover this ethnocentric circus that they provide context about how limited the following for this worldview really is.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.

  • “Norway recently decided to deport 824 Muslims with ties to radical Islamist groups. Liberals were of course outraged. They called the policy “racist”. The conservatives still pursued a policy to increase the safety of Norway from radical islamists.

What happened next has left liberals dumbfounded.

Violent Crime has dropped by 30%.

You didn’t read that wrong. The number was not 3% but 30%. People that tend to have radical tendencies related to terror tend to be criminals as these statistics show”.-US World Report.

    • Well, I’d take THEM before I’d take a bunch of inbreds from down south! But problem is, Montana is full! Has nothing to do with nationality. For you see, danny, the inbreds from down south AND the Mooselims will all end up on welfare! And then, we gotta teach’em English! The difference is that the Mooselims will all become educated and become professionals. The southern inbreds will always remain little duck dynasty Turd Nugget fans! I report, you decide!

      • I am from down South. I know how to capitalize names and directions and I assure you my parents were in no way related until they became man and wife. I have lived in a town that received our quota of Muslim refugees, Amarillo, Texas. I invite you to look it up. The facts are all there. The refugees are not becoming anything but more demanding, more aggressive, and stronger in numbers. You have an incredibly beautiful state here. I beg of you to reconsider your stand on this. The change they bring is not for the better and, i fear, is irrevocable.

        • I appreciate your comment, Karen. I don’t agree with LK that Southerners are all “inbred rednecks” since I know a number of intelligent, progressive folks from below the Mason-Dixon line. We have our fair share of “inbred rednecks” (let’s call them close minded, set in their ways, fearful people) in Big Sky Country.

I did a little research on the refugee issue in Amarillo and it seems there are differing opinions. I imagine that integrating refugees into modern American culture is no easy task, whether you’re the refugee or the native Texas citizen. I like to think that as a nation, we’re up to the task. I also think it’s the right thing to do, though, and I wish Amarillo luck in this endeavor. Again, thanks for the comment.

        • Hi, Karen. I was not talking about you personally. You seem like one of the nice ones from down south. But Montana is fast becoming a magnet for some really nasty outta staters from down south who view our wonderful state as their new “white homeland”, and bring their own particular brand of hate with them designed as religion, or constitutionalism. ie. derek skees, pasturd Baldwin, sen. fester fielder, etc. LOTS of others. Hell, even greeg giantfarte views Montana as his new Jesuslandia! We do NOT need these kind of folks spreading their hate, bigotry, and FISH! Yes fish. The fish are a metaphor for all that is wrong with these inbreds.

They HUNT the same way! Last year, a bunch of them surrounded a herd of elk down by Helena, then they called their buddies and slaughtered as many as they could! Next thing you know, they will be releasing feral PIGS into our forests! They are inbred retards without any sense of place! Montana for the most part does NOT consist of holly roller racist religeeious retards like the Baldwin’s, but that is changing fast. Their little madrassa schools are forming all over the place to create even MORE little gianfarte creationism supporters.

Is it wrong for me to point out that these folks do NOT share our Montana culture and values?? Hell, damn near the entire Pubbie state Lege is made up of these outta state christofascist inbreds, but they’re not all from down south. They have just adopted the Duck Dynasty culture and religeeon as their own! And I can’t STAND it! Listen to kris Hansen some time. If she don’t fit the bill, no one does! They’re hateful little bigots who are invading our state like the non-native fish they release!

They need to take their hatred, intolerance, AND their confederidiot flag and go BACK to where they came from! Their hatred and disrespect for our Montana has no place here. They’re trying to BUNDY our entire state! And that is not a good thing.

    • From the Gaurdian: “Syrian refugees are generally afraid of exactly the same thing that Americans are: Islamist terrorism. Many are fleeing areas held by the Islamic State, and they are doing so in contravention of Isis edicts. On a dozen occasions, Isis has condemned refugees for fleeing Isis areas.”

And from the conservative RAND Corporation: “The threat to the U.S. homeland from refugees has been relatively low. Almost none of the major terrorist plots since 9/11 have involved refugees … In most instances, a would-be terrorist’s refugee status had little or nothing to do with their radicalization and shift to terrorism.”

My thoughts are that any Middle Eastern refugee who settled in Montana would be under a microscope more than any other refugee, ever. A dark-skinned man with a Muslim prayer cap would probably be hauled in for questioning if he went to buy a bag of fertilizer for his garden at the local Ace hardware store.

      • “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
        -Marcus Tullius Cicero

  • I am always amused at the tactics used by you Don. It is too bad that your prejudices against me personally prevent you from accepting the truth even when put before you with proper grammar and by credible sources. The name calling I am sure will continue as will your distortion of the truth. We will still fight to protect your rights.

    • When, pray tell, have you ever put forth an argument that contained both correct grammar and credible sources? It’s a serious question. I’m not trying to mock you, but wondering when it’s ever happened.

It’s pretty rich for someone who joked about the death of gays and who posts the most vile hate speech about Muslims to complain about name calling.

I neither want nor need a group like yours to “fight” for my rights.

Since you’re here, can you explain why so many of your anti-government, anti-human events take place when most people are at work?

  • What it “is” is an open invitation to expose us to domestic terrorism, ranging from mass-shootings to dirty-bombs. Having worked for the state government ‘vetting’ prisoners in CA and having had the FEMA/HS Federal training on ‘vetting’ refugees, I’m going to guess I know more about this than you. Prove me wrong – I’m listening.

    • “Domestic terrorism” is the key word here. Nearly every act of terrorism in this country since 9/11 has been perpetrated by an American citizen, not a refugee. Some of these “terrorists” have been inspired by radical Islamists but there’s always an underlying story: a desire for notoriety, mental health issues, isolation or rejection from the mainstream.

Do you see refugees smuggling “dirty-bombs” into the U.S., Ti Neff? And the mass shootings were the act of, for the most part, domestic anti-government individuals or racists or just plain sociopaths.

But do tell how insufficient your training in “vetting” was. Have you allowed a lot of folks to slip through the cracks?
