Senator Steve Daines: Businessman, Scientist Rejects Human Caused Warming

During the Senate debate over the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, Democratic Senator Brian Schatz offered an amendment designed to show which US Senators believe that global warming “is real” and that “human activity significantly contributes to it.” Fully 49 members of the Senate voted no, that human activity does not significantly impact global warming. Among them, Montana’s creationist Senator, Steve Daines.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that someone who may believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old also believes that human beings are not significantly responsible for climate change.  In doing so, Daines aligned himself with the scientific thinking of Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe:

Scientists, of course, have a slightly different view, with 97% of those expressing an opinion on whether or not humans contribute to global warming arguing that we do. Senator Daines is certainly entitled to his own beliefs; he’s just not entitled to his own science.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.

  • Indeed pathetic, but I’m sure he’ll embrace modern science and medicine to make TONS of money at Proctor and Gamble, and lots of $$$ for Gianforte and the RightNow Technologies, and based on SCIENCE, but denies science when it comes to mankind’s contributions to
climate chaos? Maybe he should be consulting witch doctors and snake healers next time
one of his family members is ill.

  • Well, I guess that settles that! Freedumb really IS free! Never have I seen such gratuitous idiocy from a Montana senator as that coming from creation boy lil’ stevey wonder daines! The free dumb is incredible stuff! It’s now full on pimping for the Kockh brothers! They’re not even attempting to hide it any more. Corporate fascism has arrived! And Pee Wee Daines is greasin’ the rails!
