This is How You Respond to Sexist Behavior in the Workplace

Shares

Without knowing a great deal about what precipitated this event or the Australian Army’s response to sexual harassment in its ranks before, I can say this is the kind of response that is needed: firm and clear rejection of sexist, degrading behavior. This message from the Australian Chief of Army Lt. General David Morrison makes it clear this kind of behavior has no place in the Australian Army.

“Those who think that it is okay to behave in a way that demeans or exploits their colleagues have no place in this army…. If that does not suit you, then get out.”

“It is up to us to make a difference. If you’re not up for it, find something else to do with your life. There is no place for you amongst this band of brothers and sisters.”

I especially appreciated this line:

"If that does not suit you then get out. You may find another employer where your attitude and behaviour is acceptable but I doubt it."

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
