Neil Livingstone on Death Squads: Pro-Democracy and Stalin-Approved!

A little more search about Neil Livingstone’s approval of death squads revealed an article in World Affairs in Winter of 1983-84.  In it, Livingstone offered a perspective on government-sponsored death squads that not only invalidates him as a candidate for governor but as a human being.

Criticism of death squads is just “propoganda.” They are effective, so they must be okay.

Death squads create democracy!

Stalin said that brutal methods of repression and murder are okay, so they must be!

The kind of tactics that Livingstone explicitly endorses here are the worst of American foreign policy, war crimes of the highest order. They led to the deaths of untold thousands, did enormous damage to American foreign policy, and jeopardized the lives of Americans traveling and serving abroad.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.

  • Had to laugh like Hell:

RT ‏ @jpelzer: The Most Interesting Gubernatorial Candidate in the World #montana WY US Senate candidate Thomas Bleming gives Livingstone a run for his money — tried to kill Noriega in the late '70s
@alouis_newser Can't let Montana have all the glory 🙂

  • This is American foreign policy! This is what it has always been. Death squads. Leftists have a fatal flaw – they understand the true nature of power. For that reason, people in power know that the only way to deal with them is to kill them. That's US foreign policy under JFK, LBJ Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, the Bushes and Obama. That is US foreign policy since the end of WWII, if not before then too. It gets really ugly. In Vietnam hey referred to it as a disease, and the vaccine was massive death to millions. In Iraq 1.2 million died, as I read it, for daring to oppose American power.

The former Argentine Ambassador projected his evil nature on his enemies, but it is his true self.

In the US lefties are more privileged, and are not killed openly, though many of them have died over the years. But the left is watched closely, imprisoned, marginalized, denigrated and ridiculed. Obama wants to be able to imprison protesters for the mere act of protesting, and has take on himself the right to executive murder.

Don't worry, Don. Democrats are safe and snug.

This Livingstone is an interesting man, saying openly what is known privately. It's bad form on his part, but I do admire him for his frank honesty and no-nonsense remedies to threats to power. It's rare.

    • You "admire" him? Oh, Buttinski, you really are an imbecile. You just know so much, don't you? How does your head hold it all? Come ON, Butt, explain Latin American history for us beginning with Guatemala in 1954. How much Marquez have you read and studied? You're a pretender, little dude.

      • Better yet, start witht the Bogotazo, dude! What do you know, Marky? What makes you an expert on Latin America? Speak a lotta Spanish, do ya? Pretender.

      • Yes, yes yes, of course. One must be very clear when dealing with you. Livingstone's participation in US foreign policy was vile and disgusting, a crime against humanity, but there are no punishments for such behavior here in our country, only honors.

What I admire is that he speaks openly about it. That is rare, a violation of the rules.
