Following the recent report that hackers attacked and compromised the web site for Yellowstone County, it appears that another individual or group has, at some level, compromised the web site for the state of Montana.
ZeroPaid has reported that a hacker named Abhaxas, who previously hacked into and exposed parts of the Florida voting database has accessed databases on the mt.gov site:
The latest target appears to be mt.gov, the state’s official website.
In a recent tweet, Abhaxas commented, “Not even going to bother, i’m so tired of f***ing SQLi vulns”
He posted the list of databases he was able to access to PasteBin. In the Pastebin posting, Abhaxas commented, “Coders, please stop exposing your databases it’s not even fun anymore”
While no voter data or other information was exposed this time, the hacker did list a series of databases he was able to access.
While there is some dispute about the information that was accessed in Florida and it’s unclear what’s available on the Montana web site, it’s certainly a real concern.
