Representative Rehberg’s Unique Definition of Shared Sacrifice, Episode 2

I am as surprised as you that Representative Rehberg is back in the “Shared Sacrifice” studio so quickly. Who does he think should lose their government services today? Medicare recipients!

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says if Congress passes defunding legislation, Medicare would not be able to issue payments to popular private insurance plans that cover about one-fourth of all the seniors in the program. The health care law scaled back payments to Medicare Advantage plans, as the private insurance option is known.

I’m not sure what says more about Representative Rehberg: that is willing to sacrifice health benefits for elderly Montanans or that he is so much more interested in political grandstanding than actually legislating that he would have presented such a thoughtless proposal.

In either case,  he certainly shouldn’t be our Senator.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
