Representative Rehberg: A Growing National Embarrassment

I guess at least this time it wasn’t for being drunk.

From the NYT:

Mr. Rehberg, who likes to quote Thomas Jefferson when it suits him, should re-read the Constitution. The judiciary is a separate, co-equal branch of government. Federal judges have life tenure in order to make impartial and independent judgments. Mr. Rehberg should protect the judge from political pressure, not subject him to a nasty kind that encourages others to do the same.

It’s hard to imagine any other way that Representative Rehberg would have drawn the attention of a national newspaper, unless they did an expose on Post Office dedications or drinking on unconventional means of transportation, but it’d be nice if Representative Rehberg would just do the right thing and apologize—to Judge Molloy for the intemperate remarks and to all of us for the embarrassment.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
