Investing in Quality Education

If for no other reason than to enjoy the inevitable torrent of scathing comments that will no doubt soon appear, you might enjoy a little piece I wrote about education funding  appearing in today’s Billings Gazette.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.

About the author

Don Pogreba

Don Pogreba is an eighteen-year teacher of English, former debate coach, and loyal, if often sad, fan of the San Diego Padres and Portland Timbers. He spends far too many hours of his life working at school and on his small business, Big Sky Debate.
His work has appeared in Politico and Rewire.
In the past few years, travel has become a priority, whether it's a road trip to some little town in Montana or a museum of culture in Ísafjörður, Iceland.

He doesn't link to media outlets that don't follow basic journalistic attribution rules.

  • I can’t imagine why you’re expecting scathing comments (though I have no trouble understanding why you would prefer them to indifference), but then my imagination has proved limited in recent years.
Thank you for this attempt to help people focus on one of the scariest stories in the US today, what’s happened and is happening to education.
