Mitt Romney: The Anti-Endorsement

I’m certainly impressed with this recent editorial in The Concord Monitor, which had the courage to actually point out the incredibly apparent flaws in Mitt Romney’s campaign. If only the “liberal” media could stop fawning over his appearance and offer the same kind of critique:

If you followed only his tenure as governor of Massachusetts, you might imagine Romney as a pragmatic moderate with liberal positions on numerous social issues and an ability to work well with Democrats. If you followed only his campaign for president, you’d swear he was a red-meat conservative, pandering to the religious right, whatever the cost. Pay attention to both, and you’re left to wonder if there’s anything at all at his core.

While we’re on the subject of Romney, is there a reason that his absolute lack of experience doesn’t come up more often? You see that criticism of Barrack Obama, bur rarely, if ever about Romney. I think we should have learned our lesson here: given that the last failed President was a two term governor, why would we want one whose only real credentials are having dropped of a gubernatorial re-election campaign because he likely would have lost?

Good luck, Mitt. We could use you as the Republican nominee.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
