An IR Editorial…correct?!

I am not used to the Independent Record challenging local Helena schools, even though it seems their place to at least question problems and issues (you know, being “the media” and all) but I was pleasantly surprised this morning to read their editorial.

Despite the law allowing alternative scheduling, taking away classroom time, whether it is measured in minutes or days, isn’t wise.  I have a colleague that calls it “the race to the bottom.”  I couldn’t agree more.  Whatever perceived benefit staff development time had, it simply won’t outweigh days/hours/minutes of teaching.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
