Come On, Max: Another Bold Stand on Iraq

Maybe I am misreading this quote from Max Baucus's chief of staff, but it appears that Max is only supporting a vote on the issue of deauthorization, not actually deauthorizing the President's authority to continue this misguided war:

Montana's other U.S. senator, Max Baucus, also a Democrat, "supports Jon Tester's idea to better understand what our mission is and to have a vote to de-authorize the war," said his chief of staff, Jim Messina.

The time for half-hearted statements has long since passed. Instead of offering tepid support for a vote about authorization, Senator Baucus needs to follow the lead of Jon Tester and call for the war's end, without equivocation.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
