In a political atmosphere that is often quite critical of education, particularly education spending, it often seems that the people who run schools don’t understand why people distrust them with their money.
Case in point: The Los Angeles Unified School District has this opening on its web page for job paying as much as $75,000 annually:
The Ideal Candidate
The Ethics Advisor assists the Ethics Officer and/or the Deputy Ethics Officer in the planning, development, and implementation of the strategies necessary to establish a successful ethics initiative at the District.
First ethical obligation. Tell the Ethics Officer and Deputy Ethics Officer to stop stealing from the public before tending your resignation.
On the bright side, they only list six people on the Ethics team staff page. I assume that doesn’t include administrative support, either. Jesus.
