Jon Tester

The Montana Standard Endorses Tester

Gerry O’Brien must hate the fact that editorial boards make these decisions.

From the endorsement:

While Burns says that it may be difficult for these agencies to maintain that level of funding without a seat at the appropriations table, we believe that these endeavors can stand on their own and still secure that funding. Many of the Butte projects are tied to military defense appropriations at sites across the country. To cut one site limits research at other facilities, too.

Other issues There are many other issues, but to us Burns has not been as upfront has he should be in answering the public’s questions. Tester comes with no baggage to Washington. If he’s elected, we believe the press must be vigilant in holding his feet to the fire over his campaign promises. We think he’ll pass the test. For us, it is time to pass the torch.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
