Montana Politics

Montana energy woes back in the news…

Since the biting cold of winter is at bay and my power bill is fairly low as the only energy hog in my house now is my computer, it’s harder to complain or comment about the power bill.  However, I find it interesting that any news concerning  Northwestern Energy means a rate hike.  This news from the IR, noting a deal between Northwestern and PPL, says that a seven percent rate hike is in the works due to a seven-year deal between the two.  Sigh…

We as consumers and voters need to remember this when campaigning heats up (no pun intended) this fall in the PSC race.  As Ken Toole and Mike Taylor face off, we need to make sure that we don’t let Mike Taylor forget that he introducted deregulation to the Montana Legislature.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
