Montana Politics

More of Conrad’s dirty laundry?

The student newspaper at the University of Montana, the Kaimin, has an editorial that seems to implicate (though not clearly), Montana’s junior senator in a conflict of interest case involving the University of Montana and the Inland Northwest Space Alliance, a provate coorporation that was spun off from U-M.  The situation involved a former research administrator at U-M, T. Lloyd Chestnut, and his involvement in the startup and leadership of the INSA.  Chestnut has recently resigned from his most recent job at the University of North Texas due to a conflict-of-interest claim involving that school.  The editor of the Kaiman argues that the so-called “investigation” was botched and that a $100,000 a year job at INSA held by Chestnut’s wife is at least worthy of study.

As Drudge says…developing…

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
