IR Issues Baucus/Abramhoff Correction

Today’s editorial offered this correction:

Note: An editorial Tuesday said Sen. Max Baucus and the state Democratic Party received money from Jack Abramoff. In fact, neither ever received any money directly from the indicted lobbyist.

It’s good to see the correction, half-hearted as it is. Perhaps the IR can go back now and revisit the issue in some depth. It’s time for the papers in our state to look into the allegations against Burns and Rehberg, and the broader issue of ‘financial support’ for our Congressional delegation.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
