The Media US Politics

You know what I love about Matt Drudge?

It’s crap like this…

Currently on the Drudge Report, there is a link to a New York Times article concerning the (yawn) Robert confirmation hearing. He uses this headline:

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., made 49 first-person references in a 10-minute statement…

Boy, reading that, the Democrats are selfish bastards, aren’t they?

When you click on the link and go to the Washington Post article, there are two items of note.

First, the headline the Post uses is…

A Day of Firsts, Overshadowed

Matt is making a statement here. Certainly that is a main fact in the article but if you read just the next paragraph, apparently Senator Coburn was listening carefully while working on a crossword puzzle, but then stopped to give some pitch about that crazy activist court…

A television camera behind Coburn caught the senator working a crossword puzzle. But Coburn went from detachment to emotional overdrive when it was his turn to talk; seconds after asserting that “a super-legislator body is not what the court was intended to be,” he paused and wept.

That’s what is exactly wrong with Drudge. He is as close to selective hearing as a media hack gets.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we would certainly appreciate it.
