A month ago, I posted an appeal meant to help us sustain and promote the work we’re doing here at the Montana Post, and I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank all of you who have so generously offered to support the site.
As I mentioned at the time, I never really envisioned this site becoming more than a hobby that gave me the opportunity to vent some of the frustration I was feeling about the state of politics way back in the day when we had to worry about George Bush and Karl Rove, but over the past 13 years, the site has become much more than that.
We’ve broken stories about political scandals and had our work picked up by national media, offered a place for progressive candidates to introduce themselves and their causes, and offered a platform for writers looking for an outlet to get their work out to a wider audience. We’ve built an active online community and deployed tools to get our posts to readers as fast as we can write them.
All of that will be made easier by the generous support you’ve shown for our work. If you’re interested, feel free to visit our Patreon site and decide if the posts we write are worth a couple of bucks a month.
If not, or you’re unable to contribute, the content here will always remain accessible and you’ll never find any of it hidden behind paywalls or 10-question Google surveys. And, perhaps more importantly, we’d never want anyone to feel they owe us anything for the work. More than anything, we’re happy you’re reading.
Some of you have asked if you can make a one-time donation by check, and while I didn’t anticipate that request, we can now accept those as well. You can send them to:
