Given the choice to stand up for Montana values or bend the knee to his DC masters candidate Russ Fagg has chosen to turn his back on protecting Montana women and his years of being a district judge, and instead sided with those who would prefer to cover up domestic violence.
The Rob Porter abuse scandal is a new low for a White House that seems to jump from one controversy to the next without batting an eye. It is surprising though that a Montanan would go to DC to kiss the ring of the controversy addled Trump Administration.
Russ Fagg posted this quote Friday about ‘law and order’:
It’s time for a US Senator who will uphold law and order, just as I did during my 22 years as a district court judge.
I couldn’t agree more with Judge Russ Fagg, I just wish candidate Russ Fagg was also committed to standing up for ‘law and order’ like Judge Russ Fagg. When candidate Russ Fagg visited the White House he did not stand up for ‘law and order’ as the damning abuse allegations swirling around the Trump Administration that demand a response from everyone involved.
Judge Russ Fagg was nowhere to be found at the White House as ‘law and order’ was set aside for political expediency so candidate Russ Fagg could score some cheap political points.
I wish Judge Russ Fagg were running for U.S. Senate, but sadly all we have is candidate Russ Fagg who is committed to controversy and political games, rather than finding solutions and delivering ‘law and order’.
Perhaps candidate Russ Fagg should have Judge Russ Fagg explain all the indictments against the current and former members of the Trump campaign, administration and organization. Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, George Papadpoulos, the list grows. Judge Russ Fagg would probably understand the ramifications of such indictments, but candidate Russ Fagg just pretends they don’t exist.
The inability of anyone to stand up to the lawlessness in the White House is troubling for the future of our nation. Judge Russ Fagg was a man who knew better, candidate Russ Fagg still should understand the law better than his two competitors and he should be the one to stand above the great destructive ability of the Trump White House’s activities towards the Rule of Law.
Twice divorced White House advisor Rob Porter was fired last week for his alleged abuse of his two ex-wives.
A photo of one of his ex-wives with a black eye was released by his first wife, Colbie Holderness:
Perhaps candidate Russ Fagg should read the piece that Colbie Holderness wrote for the Washington Post about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Rob Porter when they were married.
“For me, living in constant fear of Rob’s anger and being subjected to his degrading tirades for years chipped away at my independence and sense of self-worth. I walked away from that relationship a shell of the person I was when I went into it, but it took me a long time to realize the toll that his behavior was taking on me.”
Or candidate Russ Fagg could read the piece that Jennie Willoughby wrote for Time Magazine about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Rob Porter when they were married and her push back on President Trump’s cover-up of her allegations.
“Everyone wants to talk about how Trump implied I am a not to be believed. As if Trump is the model of kindness and forgiveness. As if he readily acknowledges his own shortcomings and shows empathy and concern for others. I forgive him. Thankfully, my strength and worth are not dependent on outside belief — the truth exists whether the President accepts it or not.”
It’s disgusting, but not surprising to see men who built their careers on principled action and the rule of law to turn their backs on their values at the chance for a little taste of power and DC money, but candidate Russ Fagg has joined the likes of the entire Republican party by embracing the abuse and cover-ups of the Trump Whitehouse.
It is a sad day for America when the Republican party has no one who will stand up for women and the truth.
