Greg Gianforte has taken over $344,000 from the gun lobby. Greg Gianforte has yet to return these donations after the Valentine’s Day shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida that killed 17 people and injured another 15. Senator Steve Daines has also taken in excess of $70,000 from the gun lobbyists and won’t return it.
Greg Gianforte and Steve Daines had previously refused to return these donations after 600 people were injured or murdered during the Las Vegas concert shooting in 2017.
The New York Times reported:
Most Americans support stronger gun laws — laws that would reduce deaths. But Republicans in Congress stand in the way. They fear alienating their primary voters and the National Rifle Association.

We are grieving with Parkland. But we are not powerless. Caring for our kids is our first job. And until we can honestly say that we're doing enough to keep them safe from harm, including long overdue, common-sense gun safety laws that most Americans want, then we have to change.
