On Saturday, March 10 at 6:30 P.M. the Montana Democratic Party will host its 40th Annual Mansfield Metcalf Dinner ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. This year’s dinner will be headlined by former Vice President Joe Biden, and will feature speeches by Senator Jon Tester, Governor Steve Bullock, Lt. Governor Mike Cooney, as well as all the Democratic candidates running for Congress. John Heenan, Kathleen Williams, Jared Pettinato, Grant Kier and Lynda Moss.
This is very exciting news as Vice President Biden is one of the biggest names in American politics and served our country for nearly five decades as an elected official.
Not only that but rumors abound about his future as he is considered one of the top contenders if he were to run for president in 2020. That is very exciting news as many Montanans have already told me that they would support a run for president from Montana’s current governor, Steve Bullock.
On this Saturday night in Montana two of the leading contenders to be our next president will hold the same stage. A Mansfield Metcalf dinner hasn’t had two future presidential contenders since the most famous Mansfield Metcalf of all time, the 2008 event that featured Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. That is a day that Montanans will never forget.
This coming event is sure to be just as exciting and remembered for years to come. Montana is a key state in deciding the future of America.
Montanans are truly lucky to have the opportunity to hear Vice President Biden speak. Joe Biden represented Delaware in the United States Senate for 36 years before being elected Vice President on the ticket of Barack Obama in 2008.
Vice President Biden is a leader that transcends party and has dedicated himself to making America a better place for the next generation. He is coming to Montana because he knows he must continue to lead and be a voice of change for the future and we look forward as a nation.
In that vein, Vice President Biden has harshly criticized the Trump Administration saying:
“We really worry that we’re walking down a very dark path. It’s not alarmist. We’re walking down a very dark path that isolates the United States on the world stage and, as a consequence, endangers — not strengthens — endangers American interests and the American people,” Biden said. via CNN
And Vice President Biden also added on ABC
The former vice president also said Trump’s constant attacks on the FBI are advancing the goals of Russian President Vladimir Putin by “sowing doubt about whether or not our justice system is fair, sowing doubt about whether or not there is anything that’s remotely consistent with our Constitution. It’s just a disaster.”
Vice President Biden will be gladly welcomed by Montana Democrats and his remarks will be helpful, pertinent and incisive about our modern dilemmas and how we can unite to build a better future. Montanans are excited and it should be a great night!
