This is an exact quote from Jon Tester:

We just passed one of the shittiest bills that’s ever come in front of the Senate last night… so you know the country’s seen better days,” Tester said in comments first reported by The Washington Post’s Ben Terris.

It’s hard to put it more bluntly than that and this bill will be a tough pill to swallow, but that’s why Jon Tester is so frustrated. He genuinely tried to work to make this bill better and he was ignored. Hard working Americans were ignored.

The will of Montanans was ignored while Steve Daines was busy getting language inserted into the bill that could enrich him to the tune of millions of dollars

From the report that broke the story in the International Business Times:

Montana Sen. Steve Daines, whose estimated net worth was$14.4 million in 2015, reported earning between $485,000 and $4.2 million last year in rental income from eight properties managed by Genesis LLC. Daines, with Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, pushed for a more generous tax deduction for pass-through entities during the Senate tax bill process.

Jon Tester speaks for hardworking Montanans and he truly represents us in the United States Senate. He puts in the effort and fights the battles necessary to deliver for Montana. Sadly, the will of Montanans was ignored by Republicans and Daines in crafting this bill and this tax scam will harm Montana.

The Hill reported:

Tester previously went after Republicans earlier this month over the speed of the bill’s passage, complaining in a now-viral video about being handed thousands of pages of legislation just hours before a crucial vote.

From the Washington Post piece:

“I think that for too long the Democratic Party has been branded by the views of the coasts,” said Heidi Heitkamp, the junior senator from North Dakota who is also up for reelection in 2018. “Jon doesn’t just represent Montana but all of rural America.”

Jon represents everyone in America who knows this bill stinks and he will always call it the way he sees it even if he has to tell us it’s bullshit.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we\'d certainly appreciate it.
