Daines stands with Trump

Shares

Embracing the intolerance and paranoia of our chief executive, Sen. Steve Daines is standing with President Trump in blocking refugees from sanctuary in the United States.

Trump’s executive order suspended entry of all refugees to the U. S. for 120 days, barred Syrian refugees indefinitely, and blocked entry into the U.S. for 90 days for citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

From Daines’ Twitter account:

Here’s the link to his account but it’s not recommended reading if you have a weak stomach. Fortunately, the tweeted comments to this statement, and many similar declarations he has made, tend to call the Senator out on his xenophobia.

I don’t usually use People magazine as a source but came across this snippet posted today:

According to the Washington Post and Bloomberg, Trump’s ban did not include any of the Muslim-majority countries where the Trump Organization — which is now being run by his sons — holds business interests. Those countries reportedly include Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, the U.A.E. and Azerbaijan … (of) the major terrorist attacks that have taken place on U.S. soil since 9/11 … zero fatal attacks were carried out by immigrants from the seven Muslim-majority countries targeted by the ban.

The 19 men (who carried out the 9/11 attack) were associated with al-Qaeda, a decentralized terrorist network, at the time led by Osama bin Laden. Of the 19 hijackers, 15 were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt and one from Lebanon.

That Daines supports the posturing, fear-mongering and pandering of this administration is unconscionable. And he calls himself a Christian.

How many more innocent people have to die before you get on board. Have you had a loved one shot in the back of the head or stabbed in a public place? 12,571 Syrian refugees admitted last year 2016 under Obama alone. Unknown amount of illegal aliens also here. How many more attacks and deaths in the US will it take?

A tad bit of Montana History 101. The week after Congress debated about a refugee problem, Dean of the Montana Senate, Fred Thomas and 55 Montana Legislators, 11/20/15 signed a letter urging Governor Bullock to block or resist allowing refugees from Syria to immigrate into Montana. Overnight 30 or so Governors signed on to blocking refugees from Syria. Montana History 202 would relate how much social media FIRST contributed to the block Syrian refugee Political meme/theme seeming overnight obsession. I saw firsthand how Ravalli residents got rapidly mediated to get angry about refugees from Syria. Ravalli Republicans eventually summarily occupied… Read more »

American voters are in favor of blocking immigration from “terror prone” countries, according to a newly released poll. “American voters support 48 – 42 percent suspending immigration from ‘terror prone’ regions, even if it means turning away refugees from those regions,” states a press release from Quinnipiac University.

“Our first priority should be the safety of Americans,” says Tino Altavilla, a freshman at King’s College in northeast Pennsylvania.

Bob, I have no problem restricting immigration by religion, IF we start with the Mormons! And then, follow it up with the Jehovah Witnesses. And conclude with the Evangelicals! You see, Bob, it’s not so much Islamic terrorists that annoy me. It’s those no good bassturds that wake me UP on Saturday morning when I’m trying to sleep in! Can we all agree on that? btw, I actually work with Muslim high school foreign exchange kids from China who are Uyghurs. Fantastic kids. They were worried before the election about Drumpf. I can’t imagine what they’re feeling now. Sad, so… Read more »

Here’s the USA voting with dollars

Let’s face it. Bannon and Jared forgot to vet the ban with US Military, Justice, DOT, SOS, Mayors and common sense.

Bannon, quite a guy. The Dominionists have won! All us pagans are screwed!
Enjoy your christofascism, America! You didn’t fight back, and now it’s a wee bit too late!

None of the Immigrants from those countries that are now banned( which are not the ones trump does Business in. Trump does Business with the countries that have sent terrorists to America though) Have sent a terrorist to the USA. Bill Youre not up to date on the real facts. But you sure as hell believe in those alt- facts from white supremacists!

There’s a reason that I gave up on organized religion a long time ago. It’s because they’re all b*llshit and have done arguably more harm than good throughout human history. But still, we cannot choose one over the other in this country as Drumpf and Bannon appear to be doing. National religion is Nazi sh*t. And lest we forget, the Catholic Church has been right in there supporting Nazis and fascist regimes around the world forever, even willingly taking part in murder of innocents. Hence, this guy doesn’t surprise me one bit. In fact, sixty percent of Catholics voted for… Read more »
