The Billings Gazette Asks Strange Questions About Immigration

Shares

I’m not sure if any of you have noticed the latest money-making scheme at the Billings Gazette, but stories now seem to feature questions one needs to answer before reading the content. Most have been relatively harmless questions about online habits and purchases, but the question I received today was quite different.

peculiar

For some reason “what concerns me most about the immigration system is that we are dangerously militarizing our border, risking lives, and hurting American workers to pursue a historically discredited and troublingly racist policy” was not an option.

Now, the Gazette can make money anyway they like, especially because I’m not paying for their content, but it seems unsavory for a news organization to run what amounts to either a push poll or market research for some kind of nativist, anti-immigration group.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we\'d certainly appreciate it.
