When Jesse Laslovich runs again for political office here in Montana, as hope he will, one of the reasons I will immediately lend my support to his campaign is that he clearly understands that effective leadership transcends political differences.
Despite a campaign that was certainly spirited, Laslovich has offered his full support for his primary opponent Pam Bucy in her race against Tim Fox, the candidate representing unrestricted out-of-state campaign spending.
In a recent letter, Laslovich wrote:
With about 50 days until one of the most important elections in Montana history, it’s critical for Montanans to elect people who will move our state forward. Pam Bucy is one of those people.
I’ve known and worked with Pam Bucy for over a decade. She’s a fighter with experience in both the courtroom and halls of the Capitol. It’s the kind of experience we need in an Attorney General.
As our next Attorney General, Pam will bring her diverse experience to causes that all of us cherish, whether it’s standing up for our fundamental right to access public lands, rivers, and streams or fighting to ensure our children are safe from sexual predators. And in light of the brazen attacks on women’s health care, we need an Attorney General who understands that women should be making their own decisions about their bodies, and not the government. We won’t have a better friend on this than Pam Bucy.
Now, more than ever, we need people who have the tenacity and dedication to do what’s best for Montana. Pam Bucy has what it takes.
It’s an excellent reminder that Montana needs to choose Ms. Bucy over Mr. Fox for Attorney General. We need someone with experience as a prosecutor and someone who isn’t beholden to out of state corporate interests. It’s also an excellent reminder that we haven’t seen the last of Mr. Laslovich, who is continuing his important work protecting Montanans today and who will no doubt run for office again someday.
