Melinda Gopher making another run for Congress

Shares

Melinda Gopher’s Facebook has been pretty interesting as of late.  Things really started rolling yesterday:

Gopher continued to tease us with “will I run or won’t I run?” Facebook status updates.  And, then she made it official:

Gopher put up the following post yesterday: “Gopher Offers Vision: Another Run for U.S. House.”

After looking at the political landscape and weighing the options for the future, I have decided, as Brock & I had envisioned before our run in 2010–that we will fulfill our original plan to make two tries at the U.S. House of Representatives.

We knew in the beginning, that we would get that one loss out of the way, and begin again in the 2012 cycle.  We looked at several things, namely with the U.S. Senate hanging in the balance, a primary challenge to Sen. Tester would be too damaging, and ultimately–would position Rep. Rehberg to overtake him.

So, now we have Kim Gillan, Franke Wilmer, Dave Strohmaier, Rob Stutz, Jason Ward, Diane Smith, and Melinda Gopher are all running for Congress.  Some candidates I’d take more seriously than others.

  • The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.

  • This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
