James Knox Responds; Logic Takes a Beating

Shares

I think I may have misunderestimated Representative Knox. He’s worse than I thought. Apparently someone brought my commentary to his attention today, so he fired up his government-issued laptop to respond during the House session this morning. His response?

Given that he is the member of government and I am the one commenting, it would seem to follow that I actually do like dissenting opinions. And, as far as I know, most people don’t like threats.

Your Montana GOP. I wonder if Steve Daines is still happy to have contributed to this idiot’s campaign.

  • WTF?? The ONLY way that I'd feel threatened by Jumbo Jimmy is if I were a hotdog within his grasp! I would say the dude's losin' it, but I suspect that he never HAD it. Loser.

  • Verisimilitude is the word that comes to mind after a Google Alert brought me to this page. Not to this particular article, I do not know James Knox, this was simply the most recent article so the seemingly best to comment on.

"Pogie" I do not know you from Adam, and before tonight I had never been to your site, but I have been able to get to know you a bit from reading your posts on here and visiting the pages linked within your bio.

Instead of duping to this site's level of vitriolic rhetoric I will just call it how I see it, the only legitimate purpose I see in this poorly crafted site is to give http://www.theonion.com a competitor

I truly feel bad for the students that you "teach". While I am sure you attempt display yourself as the picture of neutrality in the classroom, you undoubtedly push your agenda in a subtle manner. That is the worst kind of deception, children do not know any better. Just as you didn't when your supported Jimmy Carter's re-election.

    • False. Pogie presents his views quite openly in the classroom, so that students know his bias from the beginning. To pretend not to have a bias is the best way to let it get in the way.

Also, did you see any vitriol? Pogie is a blogger. Knox is a congressperson. Knox can't handle criticism, so he writes a stupid tweet. I think Pogie is well within his rights not only as a political blogger, but as a teacher to point out the Knox misunderstands the meaning of the word 'dissent.'

    • Knox drone, who hardly understands the language but attempts to be pompous anyway.

      Instead of duping

I am sure you attempt display

? Please share this dupes email so that someone, anyone, can email this person the link to a dictionary. A manual of basic grammar might help as well. But more than anything, please tell us all if this dipstick is posting from the state network. This reads like Knox, all the way down.

    • I always feel like it's interesting how everyone on the right immediately attacks my profession and credibility.

As it turns out, I'm an excellent teacher who puts in more hours teaching than James Knox puts in double billing his clients.

I understand your position, though. Of course you attack me. You certainly can't defend Knox or the GOP.

    • Hey, Hotdog Boy, is THIS one of your famous "threats"? Sheesh, Jumbo Jimmy, I suspect it is! What ya gonna do, Jumbo, try to get Pogie fired? Yeah, I know your type you abdominus dufus. Next, you'll be sending anonymous, ketchup covered letters to the school board! How do I know, Jumbo Jimbo? Easy. Been down that road before. I know your type. This is EXACTLY the type of subtle threat I used to recieve all the time. Yes, you're pathetic.

  • Wow I can't believe I didn't catch that. Hasn't Knox a history of this sort of thing? Also, who goes through that much trouble to explain how they happened on a page without knowing Knox or Pogie, and insists so fervently on their being an uninterested party?

  • As I said I have no clue about knox. He very well could be the idiot you all claim he is, I do not live in montana as you are able to tell by my IP address pogie. I am in Washington DC and a Google alert for a senate candidate brought me here. I cover all 2012 Senate races for a publication out here, and a mis guided Google Alert mistook this for a credible news source.

Pogie I am in no way attacking your profession being a teacher is very honorable. My only point of contention is with the combination of your teaching and this page. Many of your students could look up to you and if they stumble on this page written by 1 of their favorite teachers it could have undue influence on them.

But obviously it is your first amendment right to do both I am not questioning that, just saying that given your profession you could have picked a more tasteful way to give your opinions and manage your site, many of these articles and – especially – the comments are very hateful. It just shows a lack of professionality which you would hope to see in a high school teacher.

And I am writing this on my phone please excuse spelling mistakes. Or just show more hatred. I won't be back to this site I have news to tend to, enjoyed the conversation though. Come 2012 I may be in your state depending on the status of your Senate race. Lets hope its a competitive one, I'd love to cover it out there.

  • Many of the posts are critical. There is an enormous difference between a post that is critical and one that is hateful. I don't hate Representative Knox or any of the people I write about. I disapprove of their hypocrisy and dishonesty, and because the media so often lets them get away with both, I blog to respond.

I think Representative Knox is a laughable fool. Had the media done its job before the election, informed voters would have rejected him, not because of bias or hatred, but simply because he lacks the competence to serve in any elected body. Because the media has become so cowed claims of bias, they refuse to cover what is often quite apparent truth.

Good luck with your Senate coverage. I'd be happy to read what you have to say about our Senate race. It seems odd that you wouldn't promote your site and hide behind an anonymous name and fake gmail address, but to each his own.

  • Youre so cool! I dont suppose Ive learn something like this before. So great to search out any person with some distinctive thoughts on this subject. realy thanks for starting this up. this web site is one thing that?s wanted on the net, somebody with a bit originality. useful job for bringing one thing new to the internet! 94519

  • This is a different sort of opinion that many people don’t usually talk about. Usually when I find stuff like this I stumble it. I don’t think this would be the best to submit though. I will be sure to submit something else though.

  • Hi there! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and say I really enjoy reading your articles. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that deal with the same subjects? Thanks a lot!
