GOP Senator Opposed to Anti-Gay Law

Senator John Brueggeman, of Polson, says he will introduce a law this session to remove Montana’s anti-homosexuality law from the books entirely, only what, a decade after anti-sodomy laws were ruled unconstitutional?

I saw this in the IR, but has a longer story.

What does this mean? It means that, contrary to Coobs, some Republicans do support individual liberties. It also means that we need to hold Mr. Brueggeman and the rest of the GOP to this – every GOP candidate (and Democrat, for that matter) ought to be asked about this proposal before November, and they all need to be held to their answers when the legislative session rolls around. Otherwise, it could just be another ‘compassionate conservative’ campaign promise that leads to naught.
