My Brother’s Keeper

Libertarians and TEA Partiers are fond of pointing out that they are not their brother’s keepers (well, except for Mark Williams, who refuses to be the keeper of any ‘brother’). I would like to point out the first person who said that –

“Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”” Genesis, chapter four, verse nine. Trying to link Christianity, a community religion, with individualistic capitalism is intellectually, and spiritually, dishonest.

Well written Mr. Downhour! I just might embroider that, frame it and give it out for as a Christmas present this year 🙂

I enjoy the thoughtful writings on this blog.
