Turns out, gangs deserve to be heard, too (BBC link), at least in El Salvador. As the country tries to make gang membership a crime to deal with one of the highest murder rates in the world, gangs are threatening transit workers and other to enforce a strike. After all, all they want is to be included! One says “”We want to start a transparent process of dialogue aimed at finding a solution to the violence,”. Here’s a start – STOP KILLING PEOPLE! Turns out nowadays even a notorious, murdering gang feels like it has the right to a seat at the table. I feel like this is officially the point where the relativism makes me uncomfortable.
