Time Travelling Christian Reveals the Dangers of an Obama Presidency: Should I Reconsider My Vote?

Shares

I’ll admit this letter, posted on the Focus on the Family web site, makes me nervous. It appears that a time travelling Christian has sent back a warning about what will happen if elect Barack Obama President next week. Sure, it would have been nice if he would have sent back the next four Super Bowl winners so I could make a little coin, but this stuff is ominous. It would look pretty good in a Tim Fox ad, come to think of it. You liberals can have your nuance all you want, but if we elect Barack Obama, we’re freakin’ DOOMED:

Has America completely lost God’s favor and protection as a nation? If it has, is this
surprising? How can God continue to bless a nation whose official policies promote blatant violation of God’s commands regarding the protection of human life, and sexual morality? Why should God bless any nation that elects officials who remove people’s freedom of religion and freedom of speech and freedom even to raise their own children?

I don’t want to scare you so I will only share a few of the things you need to worry about.

  • Every Christian publisher in America will go out of business.
  • People over 80 will not have access to hospitals or surgery. Instead, they will just be euthanized.
  • Israel will be destroyed by an Iranian nuke.
  • Russia will re-invade Eastern Europe.
  • There will be four, count them four, terrorist bombings in the United States.
  • Children will be required to watch pornography, as early as the first grade.

These atrocities, and the other 33 on the list pale in comparison to the number one problem that the Obama presidency will create: Boy Scouts sleeping with their scoutmasters:

The Boy Scouts no longer exist as an organization. They chose to disband rather than be forced to obey the Supreme Court decision that they would have to hire homosexual scoutmasters and allow them to sleep in tents with young boys.

I can’t wait for the legal reasoning in that one.

I like good science fiction as much as the next guy, but what usually makes it work is that it has enough of an element of truth to resonate with the reader. This garbage, redolent with the stench of desperation, show just how dependent on government largesse and influence the major right wing Christianist groups in the United States have become. If for no other reason than that James Dobson will not be invited to the White House for the next eight years, we need to make the election of Barack Obama happen.
