Pogie’s Fearless VP Pick Prognostications

Shares

Other than NBC’s “live” coverage of the Olympics, it seems like the other major topic in the news is endless speculation about the Vice Presidential picks of Barack Obama and John McCain. Since 95.7% of this speculation seems to be entirely based on hunches, I thought I would throw mine in.

McCain

  • I Would Like Him to Pick: Lieberman or Jindal
  • I Think He Will Pick: Lieberman (I know, it’s crazy, but I think he’ll do it)

Obama

  • I Would Like Him Not to Pick: Kerry, Kaine, Clinton, Hagel (this can’t be real, can it?)
  • I Would Like Him to Pick: Wesley Clark
  • I Think He Will Pick: Biden

I’m definitely interested to hear what other people think.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we\'d certainly appreciate it.

    Absolutely agree.

    I’m thinking Mittens!

I include anybody from the Senate.

    * I Would Like Him to Pick: Wesley Clark

Agreed, but I still hold out a slight hope for Bill Richardson (not gonna happen). I think Katherine Sibelius would be a very strong choice as well.

    * I Think He Will Pick: Biden

    I’m thinking Evan Bayh.

  • You know, I have no idea who Obama will pick. Kaine? Expect a collective moan from the left, tho’. Unless it’s Brian Schweitzer.

  • I suspect that Jay’s pick might be the most likely one–the collective moan from the left.

I was asking a friend the other day for permission to vote for Nader if Obama picks Hagel. I can live with most of the names that are being floated, but Hagel?

  • I’m not stoked about the prospects of McCain picking somebody almost as old as he is. I like Jindal, but I agree that I think he may pick Lieberman.
