Bush/Cheney: It’s Time for Them to Go

How can principled Republicans continue to
support this man? Completing the last stage of the clear coverup,
President Bush today commuted the prison term of Scooter Libby,
using this twisted logic:

"I respect the jury's verdict," Bush said in a
statement. "But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to
Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of
Mr. Libby's sentence that required him to spend thirty months in
prison."

So much for equal treatment under the law, the idea that government
officials need to tell the truth under oath, and protecting the
identity of classified agents. This is the most disgraceful team
ever to occupy the White House.

On another note, it's good to see that Fred Thompson has already
hailed the decision to commute the sentence. After all, what's a
little lying compared to lobbying on behalf of death squads?

Update: John Edwards and Barack Obama weigh in.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we\'d certainly appreciate it.
