The Helena IR: A Week Late and A Few Thoughts Short

Shares

Five days after the Hamilton debate between Senator Conrad “First Class” Burns and Jon Tester, the Helena IR felt the need to weigh in on the ‘controversy’ about heckling at the debate, relying on second hand news accounts and a pious invocation of the marketplace of ideas.

Certainly, the marketplace is enriched for all of us when the newspaper, in its hard-hitting thumbs up, thumbs down feature, spends more time discussing a non-event rather than, you know, writing about the content of the debate.

Thumbs down to forest fires, though. I never would have figured that out on my own.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we\'d certainly appreciate it.
