Not something you hear every day…

There is an interesting Op-Ed in today’s IR from a former teacher from Clancy, Montana that resigned her teaching position to join the army.  Why?  The health insurance and pay were too low to advance her career and provide for her family.

This is one of dozens of alarms that health insurance and our nation’s health care system are at a crisis.  When will we do something about it?

That’s so yesterday’s news!

Look — these damn rural teachers making $18,000 a year won’t stop whining. First it’s that they have to have like a billion degrees to comply with No Child Left Behind. Then it’s that their meager salary also goes to cover classroom expenses. Then it’s that they don’t have dental insurance.

This is how we build character. Honestly.
