The Bozeman Chronicle and the Truth

Wulfgar and Matt do a nice job of pointing out that the editorial staff of the Bozeman Daily Chronicle is apparently just as lazy as the one at the IR, repeating the same untrue claim that Jack Abramoff donated to the Baucus campaign.

You’ve got to love the Chronicle. In the same editorial, they condemn the critics of the Burns-Abramoff connection, and insist that the important issues of the campaign are issues like energy prices and the budget deficit.
Here’s a thought. Why didn’t you ask? Instead of uncritically repeating Burns’ talking points about Abramoff, why didn’t you ask Burns those questions and then report his answers (or lack thereof).

You’ve got to love the Lee papers Chronicle’s editorial. They condemn candidates for not talking about issues, and basically refuse to report about them.

In all fairness to Lee, the Bozeman Chronicle is not one of their papers.

And Lee’s State Bureau (specifically Jennifer McKee and Mike Dennison) has been doing some truly excellent work lately.
