If you can catch Hardball later this evening (and stomach Chris Matthews giggling about torture), watch it just for the interview of Tony Langouranis (will check spelling later), a former Army Intelligence officer who was deployed to Iraq. Among his arguments:
- We are losing the hearts and minds in Iraq
- 90% of the people tortured and detained were innocent
- Torture never netted useful intelligence
- And most, importantly, ever solider in the field in Iraq, from privates on up, has been given authorization to torture suspects for information.
Definitely worth a watch.
