The Insufficient Record Strikes Again!


This is a great story. That link will take you to the most ridiculous correction of a news story that I have ever read.

It sounds like two things happened: 1) The IR sent out one of its quality staff, someone who subsequently got every major element of the story wrong, and 2) an attorney for Cox Communications re-wrote the story for the IR.

Let’s hear it for the reliable mainstream media!

It looks like they’d be better off repealing the original story and starting from scratch.

Here’s another great correction:

NEWS CORP.’S Fox News was incorrectly described in a page-one article Monday as being sympathetic to the Bush cause.
