Neither Compassionate Nor Conservative

Shares

It seems unnecesssay at this point to make the argument that GW has been an absolute failure as a compassionate president, but his failure as a conservative–at least in economic terms may be more telling.

Nick Gillespie at Reason Online demonstrates the percentage changes in real discretionary spending in the first five years of a presidency:

LBJ: 25.2%
Nixon: -16.5%
Reagan: 11.9%
Clinton: -8.2%
Bush: 35.2%

Wow.

If you appreciate an independent voice holding Montana politicians accountable and informing voters, and you can throw a few dollars a month our way, we\'d certainly appreciate it.
