Karl Rove : Worse than Osama bin Laden?

So the rhetoric is perhaps a little inflated (one might suggest ironically Rovian) but Ted Rall’s argument that Karl Rove acted like a traitor is certainly an interesting one. Rall writes

If Newsweek’s report is accurate, Karl Rove is more morally repugnant and more anti-American than
Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden, after all, has no affiliation with, and therefore no presumed loyalty to, the United States. Rove, on the other hand, is a U.S. citizen and, as deputy White House chief of staff, a high-ranking official of the U.S. government sworn to uphold and defend our nation, its laws and its interests. Yet he sold out America just to get even with Joe Wilson.

It’s interesting to see how little play this story is getting still. While it is lighting up blogs, the mainstream media is so consumed by Shasta Groene and Natalie Holloway that this huge political story is sitting quietly. One is tempted to imagine Woodward and Bernstein, in ’73 writing off the Watergate story for a shark attack summer.

A search of Google News shows the following results this morning:
Karl Rove Plame: 162 hits
Natalee Holloway: 12,900 hits
Shasta Groene: 2,710 hits

I have tried to e-mail the major TV media companies with no results: How can the major TV networks continue to publish the name/photos/videos of the poor little girl who was kidnapped in Idaho? Continuing to plaster her name, pictures and the gruesome details of her abduction and rape can only make her return to a normal life more difficult. I am losing respect for journalists. Can you explain how any decent journalist can continue to do this?
